Donaldson bridge closing

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department says a routine bridge inspection will mean that a lane of Highway 67 at Donaldson will be closed this week.
The department says crews will inspect the Union Pacific Railroad overpass on Highway 67 on Wednesday — weather permitting. The work will mean the closing of the northbound lane of the highway in Hot Spring County from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Woman mising in Clark Co.

CADDO VALLEY, Ark. (AP) — Authorities in Hot Spring and Clark counties are searching for a 58-year-old woman who disappeared near DeGray Lake.
Deborah Cronn was last seen on Arkansas Highway 7 in Caddo Valley about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The area is on the southern end of the lake near the Hot Spring and Clark county lines.
Hot Spring County authorities say the search was turned over to Clark County.

Officer hit by truck in Texarkana dies

TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) — A service will be held Wednesday for a Texas police officer who died after being hit by a truck during a disturbance at a park.

Texarkana police say a suspect was being held Sunday over the death of Officer William Sprague.

Sprague was hurt early Friday responding to a call about fights that broke out as about 100 people were at Grady T. Wallace Park. Police later arrested a man on a charge of aggravated assault of a public servant. The charge could be upgraded due to Saturday's death of Sprague.

Regatta float is canceled

There will still be music, food and entertainment, but due to high waters the Remmel to Rockport Regatta float downstream has been called off.
The event is a fundraiser presented by Sykes to benefit the First Step Foundation.
The event will still begin Saturday, June 15, but instead of noon, it will start at 4 p.m. in Rockport where Smokin’ in Style will serve BBQ at the Whitewater Park along the banks of the Ouachita River and then Tragikly White takes the stage.
