Roy Douglas Shockey, age 62 of Gifford passed away Friday, February 15, 2013.
He was born January 28, 1951, in Malvern, the son of Johnny Harold and Ramona Carol Felty Shockey. Doug was a member of the Arkansas Cattleman’s Association and the American International Charolais Association. He was a avid fox and coon hunter and was of the Baptist faith. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Shockey.
Left to cherish his memory, wife, whom he married on April 4, 2003, Darlene Davis Shockey of Gifford; daughters, Jennifer Edwards (Dusty) of Prattsville, Sara Hanks (Marc) of Arkadelphia and Jessica Christenson (Bryan) of Prescott; step-daughters, Stacy Steed of Malvern, Lindsey McCann (Rocky) of Malvern, Jessica Rash (Justin) USAF stationed in Guam; brother, John Lewis Shockey (Betty) of Lonsdale; sisters, Ruth Ann Shockey Crites of Malvern and Nancy Ellen Shockey of Augusta, Georgia; aunt, Helen Haley and uncle Robert Felty of Malvern; grandchildren, Lyndsey Cooper, Cheyenne Edwards, Ty, Zoe, Xander, Kady, Hailee and Kenzie Hanks, Reese Christenson, Colby, Conner, and Emily Steed, Payton and Earrol Neal, Ally McCann, Kameron Rash, and Beth Hendrix and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 19 from 6:00-8:00pm at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 20 at 1:00pm at Regency Funeral Home with Brother Todd Bray and Nick Finley officiating. Burial will be in the Cooper Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Shockey, Landon Shockey, Neil Key, Van Key, Dusty Edwards, Marc Hanks, Bryan Christenson, Justin Rash, and Rocky McCann. Honorary pallbearers are Judge Chris Williams, Doug Young, Dr. Shawn Purifoy, Arnis Hickman, Benny Phillips, Bob Hurley, Jim White, Doug Wasson, Sunny Williams, Ralph Culpepper, Jack Gambill, Joe Keith and fellow workers, iron men, cattle man and hunting buddies.
