Malvern Country Club golf and card tournament

The 2nd Annual Malvern Senior Adult Center Benefit Golf & Card Tournament will be held Saturday, June 22 and will be hosted by Malvern Country Club (437 Country Club Lane).
The golf tournament, sponsored by Paragon Tax, Insurance & Investments, Inc., will be a two-man scramble will be flighted if there are enough teams. The registration fee is $60 per two-man team and the first tee off of the event will be at 8 a.m.
Golf carts will be available, but there are a limited number. Golfers must register for a cart if they will be in need of one.

Malvern American Legion wins tournament

Over the weekend, the Malvern American Legion team went on the road to take part in the Little Rock Junior Invitational Tournament.
The first game on Saturday, against the Little Rock Pythons, was an offensive showcase for Malvern, as they came away with a 16-7 win to earn a spot in the championship game.
The two teams went back and forth in the first couple of innings trading runs. Malvern led 3-2 after the first and 5-3 after two innings.

When an athletic event is not a sport

Last night I quickly grew tired of the College World Series (even though there was a good game being played) and I began channel surfing.
As I made my way through the channels, I remembered it was Monday night, which was once a very significant night in my youth.
Monday was important because it meant it was pro wrestling night. I was quite the WCW fan in college and watched it sporadically ever since.

Submissions of pictures are always welcomed

I have said it before and I will keep saying it until I am blue in the face — I love what I do.
I just cannot get enough of going out to the fields and getting pictures of the kids playing the sports they love.
That being said, some of what I do depends on you, the reader/parent.
With the sheer amount of leagues and games going on during the summer it is hard for me to get to every venue (my apologies to Bismarck Little League).
Even when I am out and about getting pictures of games, the unbelievable volume of sporting events means that I only get to spend 10 minutes or so at each game.
