The Hot Spring County Historical Society welcomed Charley Sandage to their monthy meeting Monday evening in the Lecture Room at Arkansas State University Three Rivers. Sandage was there to talk about his historical novel-in-the-works that depicts the lives of the Caddo Indian community that thrived near the Friendship/Midway area in a stretch along the Ouachita River known as Watermelon Island.

Charley Sandage (pictured above) is a retired teacher and songwriter/historian. He shared several songs at Monday’s Historical Society meeting.
