According to a statement released by Bismarck School District, the district was placed lockdown after a call was received around 1 p.m. “claiming there was a bomb on campus.”
“The phone number has been tracked by the Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Department and has been determined to be a spoof phone number,” according to the district.
The Bismarck School District school resource officer and the Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Office are currently on the scene and the Arkansas State Police will be providing additional assistance.
“The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We ask for your patience at this time as we work with law enforcement to verify this claim. We will continue to provide updates as soon as we have additional information, and we ask all parents to please hold off from coming to the school at this time because additional people on campus will hinder the investigation,” according to the statement.
