NASHVILLE  — The hometown Malvern Lady Leopards created some noise on the diamond during their appearance in the 2022 Class 4A State Softball Tournament hosted in Nashville. After a stellar comeback victory to top the Farmington Lady Cardinals 13-10 in the first round, the Lady Leopards came up short to the Valley View Lady Blazers 11-1 in the quarterfinal round last Friday.

The Lady Leopards state title run fell short in a heartbreaking defeat in the second round, but finished the 2022 softball season with a winning overall record at plus .500 and surpassing 20 victories led under the direction of veteran head coach Darryl Baker with assistant coaches Mark Minge and Matt Davis—with assistance from MSD Athletic Director Brain Golden.
